We are good to go!

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

I sent my broken little hard drive off to California for some sun, surf and recovery! Last week my hard drive arrived back on my doorstep full recovered! I was able to verify that most if not all items were fully recovered :) So clients, please bear with me as I get these orders placed that were lost.

Also look for a slew of overdue sneak peeks on the blog!

Oh and for those counting down, I’m at 32 weeks now! Only (hopefully) 7 more weeks to go!

MIA- A quick check in by me….

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

For those wondering where I’ve been, where their orders are, etc, I’m taking 2 seconds to check in. Mid-February I managed to get one horrible cold which as you know when you are pregnant, you can’t take much and pretty much get to be miserable.

Late February, my mom, Madeline and I jetted off to Disney again, where I managed to lose my horrible cold (FINALLY). Upon returning to Michigan, Madeline managed to again contract a lovely cold which she still hasn’t shaken. It’s by far the most miserable I’ve ever seen her. And of course you know my luck, I’ve since caught her cold.

As if that wasn’t all enough, I found out Friday that I failed my Glucose screening and now have to do the 3 hour test.

And if THAT wasn’t enough, I just lost my external hard drive w/ all of my personal images as well as client images! I’m hopeful that this drive will be recovered. So those waiting on orders, I will be in touch!

I hate to make my first post in over a month be a whiny one. I promise my next one will be better!

So I’m not off on an exotic island….just wanting to crawl into bed and wake from a bad dream!

All New 2009…..

I know I’m behind and I owe some sneak peeks.  You might be thinking, What happened to the blog?!?!?!  And what’s with all the white space at the top?!?!?!

2009 brings a lot of changes…..starting with a new blog (which is in the works right now).  Look for more changes VERY soon!

My 17 week Secret

Baby Porter v. 2.0, originally uploaded by LilSweetPeaPhoto.

Those of you on facebook already know, and some of my very patient and understanding fall clients also know. But now it’s time to announce it to all my blog readers. We are 17 weeks and a day into Baby Porter v. 2.0. I apologize for the ultrasound from 9 weeks. Honestly I’m too lazy to find the 13 weeks one and scan it, LOL!

To answer all the questions floating around….#1 We are due May 29th (which is a VERY popular day; my dad’s b-day, my maid of honor’s, her mom, several client’s children, etc). #2 We will be finding out what it is. Our appointment is scheduled for Jan 2nd. We’re hoping girl again ;) #3 what does this mean for my clients?

With Madeline I went on bedrest at 36 weeks. I’m going to play cautious and follow the same timeline for this baby. The last sessions I will be scheduling will be in March. This should allow time for editing, ordering and delivery before I deliver. I’m going to tentatively say that I won’t be taking new sessions till mid-July. I’ll be having another c-section and I’m not sure how fast recovery is the second time around, LOL!

I know I have some baby planners that will have milestones happening between March-July. If this is you, please contact me and we can work out the details.

I want to again thank all my clients this fall as they put up with my delays (I’ve never had as many colds as I have this fall). I can’t wait to shower my blog (and website) with all of my own newborn photos, something I didn’t get to do with Madeline :(

The proof…..

Meet and Greet, originally uploaded by LilSweetPeaPhoto.

Well I have to share my proof I actually met the New Kids. I’m next to Jordan and his hand is on my shoulder, LOL! My sister is in the maroon next to Danny and behind Joe.

Yes, I’m a Joe girl, but he was chatting and ran into the photo last minute. Trust me, this summer I WILL be next to him in the photos, LOL! Funny thing is my sister turned into a Jordan girl at the show…so I can tease her that he touched me, LOL!

One thing you’ll notice…they are so small! I’m 5′7″ and was wearing wedges. I was about the same height as Joe and Donnie and almost the same as Jordan. Jon was the tallest by far and even he wasn’t that tall, LOL!

Okay so there’s the proof….I’m the nut job that spent $375 to meet NKOTB and sit front row. And yes, I’ll do it again. Secretly I’d love to follow them, LOL!

Twins B & E…..

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

A few weeks ago I got a chance to go play (again in the cold) with twins B&E.  We had fun in and around the shops in downtown Birmingham.  The session was cooooooold, but these two little guys were great!  By the end of the session super large snowflakes were falling and they were having a blast running around in them.  I must admit, I was too, LOL!

Blogapalozza Again!

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Yes, I managed to once again get behind on this blog.  It’s amazing how easy it is to do.  So I’ve got to go back and give some blog love first to those I missed, then to those I’ve recently had sessions with, then some more NKOTB love, LOL!

I got to shoot these adorable sisters at Mill Race back in October.  It was one of those mornings where it was about 30 degrees when we got started.  These girls were really troopers and managed to take off their coats and bare the cold weather for a fews shots!

My Dream Come True Night.

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Detroit Show , originally uploaded by LilSweetPeaPhoto.

So I promised to update you all on what turned out to be the best night of my life ever. Yes, I said best night ever….even tops my wedding, LOL!

So in attempt to not bore all my clients, a cliff-noted version. My sister and I got to the Palace about an hour before our scheduled arrival time. We wanted to get into one of the earlier groups and we managed to do that. We were group E of A-S, so not too bad. We met some cool girls from Toronto in line. This was their 4th meet and greet!

We went back into the Palace Club I believe where the suite owners can hang out. They had a small area blocked off w/ curtains where the private meet and greets would be. So we grabbed a table and sat around for about an hour chatting with all the other girls in the room. Then Robo (head NKOTB security) came in and gave us the rules; no cameras, no autographes, etc. Then it was time for the boys to walk in. Sarah and I moved right up by where they were to walk in and started talking to a lovely Palace employee. When they walked in, they were RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! We about died! It was surreal. Jordan looked my sister over a few times too, it was funny.

The M&G’s were QUICK! So before we knew it, it was time to line up. My sister was a ball of nerves as it was her job to work the boys for backstage passes, LOL! We walked into the curtain area, Sarah took off for Danny (hey we figured she had her best shot w/ him, LOL), I went off looking for Joe. He was in a conversation with someone from the meet and greet company. I turned around to find Jordan with open arms waiting to hug me :) I hugged him and said thanks. Then I turned around to find Joe available and ran over for my hug. It was great and his sweater was soooo soft, LOL! And after that it was time to line up for our photo. I think I was stuck between Jordan and Donnie. Really it’s a blur. After that they tried to tell us to leave. Well I ran back over to Joe and took both his hands into mine and said “I’m sorry, I need to see your eyes up close”. He asked me “How are they?” and I said “Beautiful”, LOL! We shared a moment, LOL! Then I ran over to Jon to ask a question and get a hug. Then off to join Donnie in a hug w/ one of the Toronto girls. I didn’t get a chance w/ Danny. On our way out I did ask Jordan if my sister could drive back to NYC with them on their bus, LOL!

After that (which probably was like 2 minutes) we all squealed like 13 year old girls. Then I put my sister to work on anyone and everyone. She didn’t get anywhere with Robo. So I sent her off on Zach, the tour manager. And somehow she did work her magic on him. But when he asked where we were sitting she didn’t realize he meant where on the floor, LOL! So we didn’t get our backstage passes in the end. But they did say they were heading to NYC right after the show.

Now after the M&G we headed to our seats. We knew we were 2nd row on the Joe side ;) But when we got to our seats we discovered that we were basically FRONT ROW thanks to the extended stage design! So we spent the night being serenaded by our 5 boyfriends! Really there is NOTHING like being that close at a concert!

My sister and I have made a pact to do this again for the summer tour. She’s promised 2 shows, and I’m upping the number every week. I think at last count I wanted to do 6 shows, LOL! My sister and I also call or text each other DAILY since the show with something NKOTB related. It’s quite sick how obsessed we are again. So enough chatter. Some images of my boyfriends from the night ;)

N and S….some adorable smiles

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Prior to getting lost in a cold and New Kids on the Block land, I got to do my second session with N and his sister S.  It was one of those Saturday mornings where it was sunny, but COOOOOOOLD!  Luckily S was quite the trooper.  And N is in that adorable stage of nothing but smiles!    Here’s a few from their session :)   Oh and for those Blockheads, my blog post on the concert is soon to come…..Clients first ;)

Girlhood dreams come true!

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Since most of the mommies of my clients are near the same age as me, many of you may understand my excitement today, while others may roll your eyes and laugh.  Growing up in the late 80’s and early 90’s you could not avoid New Kids on the Block.  Loved them or hated them, they were everywhere.  I was one of those tweens/teens in absolute love with them.  I was also unbelievably lucky in that my parents always got me tickets for every show they did in Detroit.  And often after the show, my dad would try and stalk them for us, LOL!

A few years back my sister and I made a pack, WHEN New Kids reunite we will be there.  Well this summer that pact came true.  Initially  we bought tickets for the Chicago show, but when Detroit was announced, we changed plans, and decided to use the money we would have used on travel and lodging to go 5 Star VIP!  Not only would we be going to the show, not only somewhere in the first 10 rows, but we’d be meeting them too!  Now everyone has their “splurge” item.  For some it’s purses, some it’s shoes, for some it’s portraits ;)   For me, it’s concert tickets!  As a parrothead, prior to Madeline, my husband and I often spent the summer traveling the midwest to see Jimmy Buffett.  This summer after buying row 26 center tickets, I went on to buy a 2nd row center ticket for the concert at Pine Knob, LOL!

So today is icing on the cake.  My sister and I get to fulfill our childhood dreams.  I get to meet Joe in real life, who plastered the walls of my room for so many years!  My hope is that I somehow keep my cool ;)   And in true geeky photographer fashion, I went out a bought a new camera for this concert, LOL!  I can bring in my beast :(   So I had to snap up a new P&S that will hopefully capture the memorable night to come.

So look for photos from tonight soon on my blog ;)   Bring out your hidden blockhead…..”Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, OH….the right stuff”.
