Holiday Mini and Fall Sessions

Friday, September 18th, 2009

For my husband, January through April is his busy time (he’s a CPA).  For me as a teacher, September and May/June are my busy times.  And as a photographer, Fall is by far the busiest time of the year.  The beautiful Michigan colors, the need for photos for the holidays, the cool crisp autumn air…..fall is nearly upon us.

I will be doing full session throughout September and October on limited weekends.  Please contact me ASAP if interested.  In addition to the full sessions, I will also be doing two rounds of mini sessions again this fall.

Round one of holiday mini sessions will be held at Mill Race in Northville on October 11th. The sessions will be scheduled every 30 minutes.

For $175, you get a 20 minute photo session and your choice of 25 Holiday cards (from a selection of premade designs) or an 8×10 image. You will be shown up to 10 images from the session to make your selections. Portraits, additional cards, bulk image discounts and albums will be available for purchase as well.

The Holiday Mini Session gives you the chance to get an updated image for Holiday cards and gift giving, without locking yourself into the cost and time of a full session.

You can sign up and pay for your mini session online, Holiday Mini Sessions.

Mr. P all smiles and iPhones ~ Metro Detroit Child Photography

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

P was the last of my mini sessions in the studio.  So by the time this poor little guy showed up, it was probably 200 degrees outside.  P had a smile that was infectious.  He LOVES the iPhone much like my own Madeline.  It was reassuring to see I’m not the only parent out there with an addicted preschooler, LOL!  One thing P really loved was looking at his image after I took it.  I’d run over and show him and he’d say “That’s P”.  It was very cute.  I wanna thank P’s entourage.  You kept the smiles flowing and helped me get some great images!  P, I hope I get to see you again.  Maybe you can teach me how to bowl on my iPhone ;)

Mini Session Mania ~B~ Detroit Children’s Photographer

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

So it seems I managed to pick the hottest day of the year to hold the mini sessions in my “new” studio.  All of the parents and kids were great sports as not only was it 90+ degrees, the elevator was broken so we had to walk up the 4 flights to the studio.  We managed to raise $40 for the “Let’s Get This” foundation, which will donate 20 books to needy children.  Don’t worry if you miss this round of minis.  I think I’ll be doing a round this fall as well ;)

Now onto B.  He is the naked baby in my blog header.  He’s all over my blog and website as well.  It was nice to see him again, now almost 2 years old, where has the time gone!  And it was nice to see his mom as well.  I have to say, this was my first round of sessions in my studio.  I absolutely LOVE it!  I think the kids do too.  Every single one manged to spend 1/2 the session doing laps running around it, LOL!

The C Family, W is 1! ~ Metro Detroit Children’s Photography

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

I love anytime I get to do a session w/ the C family.  I’ve been photographing the boys since C was 8mos old!  Now he’s a big 3 year old.  It was time for us to do W’s 1 year photos.  Brady was actually due on W’s first birthday, so we had to hold out a bit for his session.

W was much like his older brother C, on the move for his 1 year session.  But I did manage to capture some great photos of him.  I also got to sneak a few of older brother’s C and A.  Mom, I hope these were worth the wait ;)

How sweet is he? – Metro Detroit Newborn Photographer

Monday, April 6th, 2009

When M called me and asked to book a newborn session in late Feburary/early March, I was hesitant.  Not that I didn’t want to shoot a newborn, I love them!  But I worried what state I would be in, too huge, bedrest, miserable?  M seemed pretty laid back about the whole situation, and I knew it was a good match.  Well come to find out, M is a teacher, and her husband is a CPA, LOL!  So we must have the same coping mechanisms.

This little guy held out on mommy and daddy for awhile.  But I’m sure mom and dad would agree he was worth the wait.  I have to say, I do love photographing “big” babies.  Probably because my own come out the size a the average 3month old.

I want to say to dad….I know I gave you a hard time about your NCAA brackets….looks like you weren’t too far off.  But I’m hoping for a UNC win tonight ;)   Go Blue, LOL!

The Other C Clan

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

I started to photograph this C Clan when Mr. C was a mere 9 months old.  Now C is a big brother and it was W’s turn to be the 9 month old (okay really 8 but close enough, right?).    And to save face, I did post these images on Facebook.  Again please consider “faning” my biz on facebook ;)   Perks are you get to share your sneak peeks because I tag them!  Facebook Fan Page.

This session was great fun.  Dad was behind me either dancing or pushing a shopping cart to get C and W to laugh.  I only wish I knew how to work the video capture in my new camera, as that would have made for some priceless blogging ;)

First we have A.  I made him wear these glasses and look tough….I love that they are crooked and you can see my legs in the reflection.

At first I thought C was making faces at me.  Then I was told, this is C’s current smile.   Got to love that blur of blue behind.  That would be A….yes, often times the blur in the background is another sibling, LOL!

And finally the guest of honor….the star of the session, Mr. W.   How can you not love those eyes!

The C Clan….Holidays Fun!

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

When J called me and asked me to do a session before they moved to Colorado, I thought why not.  Then she told me she had 2 year old twins and a 9 month old….no problem.  Then she added in that she wanted to have grandmas there too….the more the merrier.  And finally she added in sisters (aunts) and cousins.  And I thought to myself, poor J, LOL!  Sure shooting a group is more of a challenge for me as a photographer, but often it’s the coordinator that goes crazy.  J did a great job!  I had lots of fun both inside and outside w/ this group!

A blogging we will go……Let’s start w/ B!

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

What can I say…I got a bit off w/ this whole blogging sneak peeks this holiday and this year.  So even though these are no longer sneak peeks….I owe it to these little cuties.  So here we go!

You’ve seen B before, infact he’s the little naked guy in my header.  Gotta say, I love B’s sessions, probably because mom and dad are HUGE Michigan fans.  How can you not like that?  I did B’s session WAY BACK after the UM/OSU game (no need to bring up the game, LOL).  It was cold, but B was loving it outside!
